Beginning in mid-August of 2024, agents will be required to sign a representation agreement before they work with buyers. Buyers should be prepared to sign a representation agreement with their chosen agent BEFORE they begin their house search.
It is critically important that buyers have a full understanding of the representation agreement that they will be signing. There are many different options in the agreements including, but not limited to, terms such as:
- Non-exclusive and Exclusive Representation
- Length of time for Representation
- Services offered by the Agent
- Amount of Compensation
- How to Cancel the Agreement
